The Akure South Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has replaced the vacant positions of few executive members who in their parochial reasonings decided to pitch tent with the ruling All Progressive Congress recently.
The decision was taken at the Local Government Executives meeting held at the Party Secretariat on Tuesday 18th July, 2023 having received a detailed reports from the affected ward and the need arises to do the needful. Action taken was in total compliance with the party’s constitution which empowers the Executives to carry out such exercise.
The affected offices includes, Local Government Asstistant PRO, Financial Secretary, Women Leader and few positions at the ward level.
It’s therefore expedient to assure all interested stakeholders that the party will remain indivisible, focused and strong regardless of its present challenges, saying those who left should not be taken seriously as they only made open their secret dealings and parleys with APC from day long at the detriment of our great party, PDP.
However, the replacement became imperative in order to give the party a direction both at Wards and Local Government Level. Also It will ensure that no vacuum of any type is left unaddressed within its structures, noting that repositioning the party ahead 2024 Gubernatorial activities remain our primary and cardinal assignment.
Consequently, the nominations which was supported by all the stakeholders that attended the meeting had the following replacements: Mr Ogunleye Tope as Financial Secretary, Mr Sunday Funmilayo as Ex-officio, Mr Adekunle Idowu as Asst. PRO, while Mrs Lola Anabor who previously occupied the position of an Ex-officio was elevated to the position of woman leader respectively.
In the meantime, the party enjoined both at Wards and Local Government to see their elevation as divine intervention and call to duty, giving the circumstances surrounding it and coming at a time when their best and wealth of experiences are needed for the progress of the party at all levels; to him much is given,, mush is also expected.
Finally, the party urges its members across board at this critical moment to remain united in the days ahead and also do away with actions, utterances and behaviours capable of causing further damage and polarization to the party.
