The Akure South Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has condemned in strong term the publicly burning of PDP flags during a meeting organised by APC WARD 4, Akure South to formally receive some disgruntled PDP defectors led by one Mr Abbey Ajisegiri.

The party in statement made available through the secretary described their actions as not only commendable but extremely disgraceful noting that those involved in the shameful act were once see PDP as the only means of survival and have benefited immensely in the PDP judging by the facts available to all asundry with the party.

The statement further stated that Mr Abbey Ajisegiri who championed the burning of the flag on behalf of others was a delegate during the last party’s primaries where he made huge fortune and other benefits. His action to publicly set on fire the flag of a party he once benefited from was not only mischievous but also negates the spirit of true and mature political player.

The statement urged the public not take them serious because their political antecedents are well known in town; they are neither here nor there. However, it should be noted that those seeing in the video have long ceased to be our member, they only perfected age long romance with the drown APC, even at the detriment of PDP.

The Akure South PDP cannot and can never go to an extinction for any reason as being strategizing in some quarters, those seeking an abode in APC are either hungry or over ambitious.

APC that we all know based on its antecedents and present hardship, suffering and troubles being melted to the masses cannot be a safe haven for any reasonable politician, PDP remains formidable and a party to beat in the state those leaving PDP for APC will soon regret their actions or have themselves to blame in no distant time; we are watching.

Signed:

S A Ogedengbe
Secretary, PDP Akure South Local Government.
