Akoko NE/NW bye-Election: Elegbeleye, Olabomi Others Agreed On Primary, Inform Party Leadership.

Peoples Democratic Party Aspirants jostle to clinch the party ticket for Akoko North /West federal constituency, house of representatives have agreed to go for primary election in accordance with party constitution.

It would be recall that the the seat became vacant when Hon. Bunmi Tunji Ojo was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Minister for Interior due to this an election must be conducted within a stipulated period for another person to occupy the seat.

In preparedness for the election, PDP at the state level swung into action by putting in place a twenty man committee, ten from each affected local governments to screen interested aspirant eyeing the seat.

The committee report had been submitted and the outcome is not favourable to many of the aspirants due to discrepancies found in the report which led to their coming together in addressing the observation and to channel better course for the party ahead of the bye-election.

Meanwhile stakeholders and party faithfuls across the two local governments have been agitating for free and fair primary for all aspirants from both Akoko North East and Akoko North West local governments that made up the federal constituency.

Therefore for the interest of the party and for her to come up with a popular candidate with grass root experience, some of the aspirants under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have unanimously agreed to have a primary and that anyone among them that wins the party ticket would be supported.

There resolutions has been communicated to party leaders in the State and South-West Zone through a letter jointly signed by them.
