Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has swiftly intervened in the case of Mmasona Joy Ejikeme, a young student who recently attempted suicide.
Mmesona desperate act came just hours after a video of her contemplating suicide went viral on social media platforms, prompting an outpouring of concern from public.
Governor Soludo took immediate action upon learning about distress situation. In a letter addressed to the principal of Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, where Mmasona is enrolled, he ordered that she should be handed over to the state guidance counsellor and a professor of clinical psychology for necessary physchological evaluation and support.
The governor emphasized the urgency of the matter, insisting that Mmesona counselling and therapy sessions commence without delay.
