PRESS STATEMENT.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership has been inundated with several calls from our party members and voters alike from polling units and wards that some APC members who disguise as INEC officials do approach them to surrender their voter cards for another round of registration where they cunningly collect the voter cards with the account details of the prospective voters. The impostors also make fake promises to transfer certain amount of money to the voters in due course.

We have it on good authority that this outrageous act took place at several collection centers and specifically, at African Church Primary School, Akure collection center where these anti-democratic agents ambushed the unsuspecting voter card collectors and tricked them into submitting their voter cards in exchange for money.

While we know that the APC is likely to tread these undemocratic routes, having sensed its rejection and imminent defeat at the November 16 gubernatorial election, in a free and fair contest, we nonetheless express our deep discontentment against this sinister and satanic approach embarked upon by the APC which is clutching at every available crooked means to retain power beyond February 24, 2025 in Ondo State, a dream that can never come to manifestation.

Our party is calling on the voters not to yield to the antics of these agents of darkness who have no abundant life packages but only come to steal, maim and destroy their lives through misgovernance, feathering of their own nest and inordinate pursuit of personal upliftment.
Under these terrible circumstances, we urge the voters to remain uncompromised in the face of the unwarranted pressure being exerted by a failed party which has brought nothing but agony, pain, trauma, anguish to their lives. We are charging them to be more resolute, focussed and determined in their already-made decision to remove a party that has made life absolutely miserable, uninviting and no longer attractive.

Our party is by this notice, calling on the INEC and the security agencies to be up and doing, unbiased and patriotic in the discharge of their constitutional functions as we approach the November 16, gubernatorial election in Ondo State. While the INEC ensures that it does not harbour any agents of darkness to infiltrate, penetrate and truncate the electoral processes under any guise, the security agencies are equally implored to be professional, vigilant and stay alert to respond to intelligence gathering with a view to bringing these impersonators and culprits to justice.
